Ingredients For: Amish Cookies

1/2 cup shortening
1-cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2-cup milk
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4-teaspoon baking soda (add to the milk)
12 ounces bag of chips (or butterscotch chips)

Instructions For: Amish Cookies

Cream the shortening and sugar for amish chocolate chip cookies . Add eggs and milk with soda. Mix together and add baking powder. Gradually add flour and stir well. Stir in chocolate or butterscotch chips.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 for 8 minutes, or until edges are light brown; watch carefully.
